The Syrian Diary

TV documentary devoted to the civil war in Syria. The movie was created by the group of journalists of Russia 24 TV channel, who, for seven months in a row, starting from August 2011, had been conducting reports right from the spot. The movie shows how Syrian army and Syrian people were trying to defend themselves and their country against the crimes of extremists acting under international media and financial support and getting weapons from abroad for the conduct of war "for freedom".
The Syrian Diary premiered on December 26, 2012 on Rossiya channel. Later the movie has been shown in UN headquarters in Geneva and in Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the UN in New York.
Anastacia Popova, the author of the movie, and participants of the the film crew have been awarded the "Medal for Courage" in Kremlin.
